Local Wood Brings Natural Beauty to Homes

As part of our continued dedication to the green building movement, in the fall of 2009, Carpenter Beach introduced Local Wood. Local Wood converts locally harvested trees and wood from old structures throughout Loudoun and Clark County, slated to be torn down, into useable lumber.

Local Wood provides kiln and air dried lumber for furniture, cabinetry, flooring, moldings and other wood-based products.

Local Wood stocks the following woods:

  • Cherry
  • Walnut
  • White Oak
  • Red Oak
  • Maple
  • Ash
  • Cedar
  • Reclaimed Chestnut
  • Reclaimed Heart Pine

The concept was developed by Charlie Beach, one of the owners of Carpenter Beach Construction, who felt that there is a demand for lumber that is locally harvested, sawn, dried, and distributed in Loudoun County and Clarke County.

Charlie hopes that new and existing customers will use this service to have trees on their property harvested, sawn, dried and ultimately used to create custom wood products.

Local Wood also sells locally harvested lumber to all woodworkers at the 40 Kimble Road Shop in Berryville, Virginia.
