About Carpenter Beach

Scott Carpenter and Charlie Beach, owners of Carpenter Beach Construction, are life-long residents of Loudoun County. They continue to live and raise their families in Round Hill and Waterford respectively. Each of them started their own construction companies in the 1980’s and have provided excellent customer service for decades. Their reputation as professional, custom home builders is vetted by time, experience, and high quality work in Northern Virginia.
Both Carpenter and Beach have seen their primary service area, Loudoun County, go through tremendous growth. Loudoun known as the “fastest growing county in the country.” With this growth came the need for trusted builders to meet the demand. In early 2006, Scott and Charlie merged their own successful construction businesses into one. Together offering over 40 years experience working hard within the community to make customers happy.
During the economic downturn Scott and Charlie saw another opportunity. Local construction projects were constantly clearing the raw land of this areas greatest natural resource, hardwood timber. Together they opened another business, Local Wood. Local Wood specializes in transforming timber from construction projects and other related clearing operations to one of a kind pieces in your home. Carpenter Beach Construction in partnership with Local Wood delivers the highest quality custom homes, renovations, and commercial construction solutions in the area.

Charlie Beach

Charlie is co-owner of Carpenter Beach and Local Wood. He started his construction career with the formation of Beachmark Construction in 1996 after graduating from West Virginia University with a major in history. At that time, he worked primarily in Clarke county on various historic restoration projects, which were awarded state and federal tax credits. In 2006, he and Scott Carpenter joined forces with the creation of Carpenter Beach construction, taking on projects ranging from design and build, to rehabbing, or a much needed expansion, or creative outdoor spaces to enjoy life in nature. Charlie enjoys building long term relationships with the many talented tradesman needed for projects of any scale.
This partnership has allowed Charlie and Scott to grow their construction company as well as begin another project close to their personal interest. The art of harvesting and repurposing local wood. Their new sister company named, Local Wood, LLC. Many of the Local Wood harvests evolve to become beautiful focal points in homes they build, whether historic or contemporary theme.
Charlie presently lives in Waterford VA with this wife Marlena, son Aiden, and daughter Siena. The family enjoys traveling, sports and farming.

Scott Carpenter

After growing up in Western Loudoun County Scott attended George Mason University where he earned a BS in Economics. In 1986 he joined with his older brother to start Carpenter Brothers Construction Company. Carpenter Brothers focused on residential remodeling with an emphasis on deck and porch construction and finished basements. In 1992 Scott left Carpenter Brothers Construction Company and started Carpenter Construction Company, which continued to build decks and finish basements, and began to focus on larger remodeling and renovation projects as well as custom home building. In 2006, Scott merged his construction company with Charlie Beach’s Beachmark Construction and together they formed Carpenter Beach Construction Company. In this new partnership, Scott focused on running the office, advertising and sales, while Charlie was in charge of production. In 2010, Scott and Charlie started Local Wood, a hardwood lumber supply and wood manufacturing business.
Currently, Scott has stepped away from the day to day operations of Carpenter Beach Construction and manages Local Wood, LLC.
Scott lives in Round Hill with his wife and three children. His interests include tennis, golf, and recently he began to play polocrosse with his wife and children.

Ben Carpenter

Ben recently joined Carpenter Beach Construction. As a second generation in the company his goal is to continue providing excellent customer service and craftsmanship for years to come. Ben graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Building Construction and minor in Real Estate. After Virginia Tech Ben joined a large commercial construction firm serving the DC area working on a variety of projects from trophy class office space to health care.
He plans on bringing his experience from the commercial industry to help develop Carpenter Beach Construction’s own commercial construction wing. With an expansion in construction services he hopes to serve more customers in the northern Virginia area.
When not building Ben enjoys spending time with family, working outside, playing tennis and golf.
