Preservation and historic restoration of the Hanson House, built in 1870, on the property of a newly built 257-acre park helped to give visitors a sense of the land’s history. Both the exterior and interior of the home were badly neglected. We restored the entire structure, down to the stone foundation and back to the wooden beams, with modern materials and utilities to allow the Park to use the space without concerns about public use or historic upkeep.
Carpenter Beach handled structural work as well as finishes, including flooring and wood trim, to give the house a sense of its former self.
